Hi Stas,

Received my new 36.2 mp Nikon D800E a few days ago. Something strange with the D800E NEF files, Helicon Focus thinks the 7360 x 4912 pixel NEF files are only 1632x1080 pixels, most strange. Helicon Focus is of course happy with the 7360 x 4912 pixel jpgs though. Adobe has only recently caught up with this new flavor of a NEF file

Try to use different RAW converter in the Preferences of Helicon Focus. If this does not help please send your RAW file to our ftp server as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp.html

I have uploaded 2x Nikon D800E NEF files the FTP site in a folder called Nikon D800E NEF
One is a 12bit NEF file. The other is a 14bit NEF file
Give 'em a whirl

Hello Steve,

We use embedded RAW converter and it reports wrong resolution in the file information dialog. If you chose Adobe DNG module for RAW conversion, the files are opened in full resolution, you can see this on the Parameters tab above the image.

I personally use Lightroom 4.1 as it opens D800 NEFs fine in no time. I also use Photoshop CS6 rather than Elements, but there was somewhere information that Elements 10 was required to open D800 NEFs.

It's an old thread. Now Helicon Focus does fully support this file format.
