Android app directory naming and couple more

Hello.

And thanks for so far nice (Android) application.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note tablet w/Android 4.0.4 and Nikon D3s and D800 cameras which I have tried with the app via hama USB Adapter Cable.
I have found few items during my evaluation before registering the Android app. These are in some sort priority order but #1 is so far the most important...

1. I would like to store all images from every shoot to one directory so that images are named Year4-Month2-Day2_HR_counter4.ext (e.g. 2012-09-09_HR_0005.nef). So far the attempts are almost there but I am not able to configure the app so that pics go to one dir, instead they come to directories named like this from every shoot:
HeliconRemote, HeliconRemote(1)...

I have the folder naming template just saying "HeliconRemote" and Create new folder for the new stacks "No" but it does not seem to work.

2. Battery seems to drain faster than normal even after app is closed. Haven't been able to verify this thoroughly though but seemed help when I forcedly killed the app from settings after using it (I had exited the app earlier through menu as well). Battery life is anyway very short when using the app. Haven't done any real shoots with it yet, only some small trials so I shall follow this more carefully still.

3. Two times I have had issue that camera (D3s) could not be detected without rebooting the tablet. Then the question about USB usage with the app appeared again and camera was detected properly. But it does not happen every time and have not figured yet the sequence when it happens...

Thanks,
Toni

Hi Tony.

1. We are aware of the problem and the next version will be free of it.
2. Live view is what drains battery. Make sure you press "Exit" and not "Minimize" when exiting the application, live view should be deactivated upon exit. Other than that, there's no reason for short battery life, especially after the app was closed. There shouldn't be any difference between force closing and exiting normally either.
3. We didn't encounter such a problem so can't really advise anything.

Hello, and thanks for your reply.

1. This is great to hear. I did register my app already and look forward in using it in the future. Hope to get the update soon.
2. I did exit using the menu option. I'll keep my eye on this next time.
3. I keep following on this as well and report back if I find something you might be able to help with.

Take care,
Toni
