Hi,

Any time I try to use raw files from my Nikon D800 to attempt to do some focus stacking the images appear really dark as compared to what they are like in the raw converter. I am using Adobe Lightroom 4 as my raw converter.

Any ideas on how to overcome the problem?

Please try to use different RAW converter in the Preferences of Helicon Focus. If this does not help please send your RAW file to our ftp server as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp.html

Where in the preferences of Helicon Focus do I choose a raw converter? I don't see the option anywhere.

It looks like you are using Mac version of the program. You are calling Helicon Focus from Lightroom? Please check settings for exporting files. Set export format to tiff. In this case the images are developed by Lightroom and the exposure should be correct.

Hi - I am using the stand-alone version of Helicon Focus on my mac ... I am not using it from Lightroom.

Sorry, I thought you are calling Helicon Focus from Lightroom (which is possible).

On Mac we rely on system support of RAW files. I would recommend to install latest OS version and RAW update (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5371).

You are also welcome to try latest beta which uses internal module for RAW conversion, let us know how it works with your files: http://www.heliconsoft.com/downloads/HeliconFocus6.dmg

I will try your beta and let you know - my mountain lion os is up to date

I tried the beta and had the same result ... very dark.

Is there anything else I can try or can I send you some files to test? I would really like to get this to work and use your software!
