D90 mirror lock up and battery life

Hi,

I'm trying out Remote and I have a couple questions. I am using a D90 and Nikkor 105 macro. When shooting a stack the mirror doesn't stay locked up but drops and raises for each shot. So the mirror stays up during preview within Remote, then drops before each shot, then raises for the shot, then drops after the shot, then raises again to continue with preview within Remote. Is this normal? I set the camera to liveview but it drops out of liveview mode as soon as the USB cable is attached.

The second question concerns battery life. The D90 factory battery drains from a fresh charge in about an hour of use with Remote. Is this normal?

Thanks for any info.

The mirror behavior is normal, that is how D90 reacts to shooting command - it turns live view off first and then rises mirror again to make a shot. It was fixed in later cameras, for example, D800 doesn't flip the mirror unnecessarily.
Live view is draining battery, it is normal. Turn it off when you don't need it to conserve battery.
