Need better instructions or I'm confused

I just downloaded the trial version of Focus and Remote onto my HP laptop. I’m 60, bought my first DSLR (Canon 7D) about two years ago and am not at the same technology level as most of you. I’m just having fun learning about photography.
As a newbie I’d like to comment on the auto bracketing guidance in the Help section so hopefully others won’t be confused like I am.
I wanted to take a bracketed series of a sunset to merge later. I made my auto bracketing settings and selected the “Start Shooting” button and got the following message:
“The program does not have enough information the system doesn’t have enough information to start shooting. Define start and end points or number of shots and interval”.
I didn’t want auto focusing, just auto bracketing. Through trial and error I discovered if I select the “Take Picture” button the system takes the five bracketed photos. In Step 4 under “Shooting a Stack using Helicon Remote” in the Help section it tells you specifically to push the “Start Shooting” button yet there is nothing in the Auto Bracketing instructions telling you to push the “Take Picture” button. Perhaps this is intuitive to the experienced photographer but not a newbie.
Am I missing something here?
