Helicon Focus High CPU usage when doing nothing

I'm using Helicon Focus 4.2.9 On a mac OSX 10.8.5 (recently I was on 10.6.
and once you begin your first composition, and it has finished rendering the CPU usage goes right up.
On MAC PRO its CPU goes up to 780%
Can I assume this is a bug in the program as this was never an issue on OSX 10.6.8?
