As it says in the title ... any way of stopping/cancelling a Render?

You probably mean stopping rendering in Helicon Focus 6? Select the task in the Output list and delete the task with the icon below the list. I agree, this operation should me more evident, we plan to change this.

(Some sort of cancel button below the Source Images would perhaps be more obvious though.)
