I am just starting to evaluate this program and I notice that when I import photos there is a distinct washed out colour cast...I have attached a copy of the file from lightroom before import and from Helicon after import

Any information on what I might be doing wrong would be appreciated

Color reproduction depends on RAW engine and its settings which are used for opening RAW files. You can change them in Raw Development settings, which are available under Source image list.
