Stacks all overexposed

Post by MikeCT »

When I run a stack through Focus, the final image is very much overexposed, even though the individual shots are fine. The output looks the same no matter what setting I use in the creation of the stack. The attached single image is from a series shot at f5.6, 1/160 sec, ISO 100 RAW. The Focus settings were for method C

Please upload your stack to our server (as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp-server/) and we will see what is happening.
If you are user of GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive or other cloud service, you can upload your files there and send us a link.

Hello Mike!

The exposure is changed by default option in DCRAW converter (clip highlights).
If you change this option to unclip or use different RAW development engine, you should not have this effect.
You can change these parameters under source image list (RAW development settings).

You can also install Adobe DNG Converter: http://www.heliconsoft.com/adobedng/
and setup the path to DNG Converter in Helicon Focus menu "Edit / Preferences... / Integration".

Thanks Stas, that took care of it. I have no idea how that setting got changed: I didn't even know it existed!

Hi,
I'm having the same issue.

I've just downloaded Helicon Focus for the first time, and I have downloaded Adobe DNG Converter, and it's set in the Integration menu.

Where is the DCRAW converter (clip highlights)? I can't find where this is to change to unclip or use RAW development engine.

Many thanks
Corina

If you are using LR, we'd recommend processing the stack in HF and editing the output in LR, rather than editing the stack prior to processing in HF.

We also recommend selecting Raw-in-DNG-out loader in Raw development settings: https://www.heliconsoft.com/focus/help/ ... aw_PROCESS
