software update hangs up...

Recently renewed my subscription to Helicon Focus. It is currently version 6.2.2. Many updates appear to be available. Twice we have downloaded the updates, and clicked on the 'update' button. Both times we receive the 'update in progress' message, but it appears to hang or, stall or crash the program at that point. It never finishes the update and the program needs to be forced quit to shut down. We are currently using a Apple Macbook pro running
OS 10.5.5 (Yosemite). It does not appear that I can take incremental steps in updates, is it stalling because there needs to be a succession of updates to get to the latest update??
