Question on FB tube setup or use...

Hi-
I just got my Nikon FB tube and set it up but can't figure out why I'm having a problem...
Example, I set it up to use the Nikon 105 lens to shoot a seashell on a light table. I set it up for f 5.6, with 7 shots to infinity.
After I go through with shooting 7 shots when I look at them on my Mac, they seem to focus, go one step further and then back to original focus point.
I have tried camera setting to manual focus and lens to auto/manual and also tried it with both set to AF.
Any idea what I've done wrong?
