It does not recognise MLU

Post by ellisrw »

I am using both 5D Mk2 & 7D with Canon 100mm Macro. Using the latest Remote Beta for mac. It does not recognise MLU when the cameras are attached to my Macbook Pro

I would appreciate if you send us log file (Helicon Remote menu \ Help \ Report a bug).

The mirror lock up mode is not being detected on my Canon 1D Mark IV with 2.4.4w (downloaded this morning)
I rebooted after install and closed all other programs.
I just submitted a bug via the software bug report tool.
If it helps on the 1D Mark IV mirror lock up is set via custom function group III number 17. there are 3 options. 0: mirror lock up off 1: mirror lock up on 2: mirror down on SET

I previously reported that it didn't work with my canon 7d here on the forum, but that post seems to have been deleted. Your response said you thought I wasn't running the latest software. I thought I was but didn't have definitive proof.

I just tried this latest software with a 7D and it also reports MLU:off despite mirror lock up mode being enabled. Also just submitted bug report for that.

Am I doing something wrong?

This is important to me as I'm shooting with a long focal length.

Thanks!

We don't have a solution to this problem at the moment. We would like you to run a test for us to get more information on the problem. Please turn live view off, go to the camera body menu and switch MLU off and back on. Tell us if that makes Remote rtecognize MLU or not.

Turning off the live view and change mirror lock up to off, then back on does not seem to affect the MLU setting on the 1d Mark IV. neither does live view on, live view off, turn mlu off, live view on, live view off, turn mlu on. It always reports MLU off.

Is there a workaround? If I put the camera in 2 second timer mode it will automatically do the mirror lockup, but can I set helicon to expect a 2 second delay every time it triggers the shutter?

Unfortunately, there is no such workaround, but I think we can fix this problem if you make another report for us. Please start Remote when MLU is off, wait for live view picture to appear and turn MLU on, wait a few seconds, turn it off again, wait another few seconds and send a report.
