Purchased a Nexus 7 this morning and I'm anxious to try Helicon Remote with my Nikon D300s.
However, it doesn't appear that any local stores carry OTG cables. I'll order one from Amazon.
They're certainly inexpensive, but I was hoping to get one today.
Anyway, I was wondering, is the OTG adapter the only way to tether to the camera or is there (I did look for one) a cable
that will go from camera to tablet without the use of an adapter ??
OTG Cable ?

Re: OTG Cable ?
Not that we know of. Keep in mind that just any micro USB to mini USB cable won't do as OTG adapter has a specific pin layout that's neccessary for connecting external USB devices to a tablet.
Re: OTG Cable ?
I've received my OTG cable and everything appears to be working well.
The tablet/software 'find' the camera without issue. I can focus, change exposure etc...
Having the larger high res screen coupled with focus and over-exposure indicators in the way
that helicon-remote provides is an enormous value.
Looking forward to continued use. I can't wait for the opportunity to try focus stacking for my
macro projects.
