3 questions

Post by Sterling »

I wanted to get better depth of field by using this 5 images together.  The images were shot handheld with a Sony NEX 7 on manual focusing on closest subjects 1st, etc.

(1)How do I refine the final Helicon image to eliminate the ghosting?  Also, in using method B, a series of BW formative images appear sequentially .... (2)How do I save these individual images.

Finally, I am using a Mac Pro with the following configuration:

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro4,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per processor): 8 MB
Memory: 16 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 6.4 GT/s
Boot ROM Version: MP41.0081.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.39f5
SMC Version (processor tray): 1.39f5
Serial Number (system): H09384ST20H
Serial Number (processor tray): J593004RB1LUE
Hardware UUID: EE62BCF3-44C3-5A80-B0A0-9E2526D8B75C

(3)Should I use the 32 bit or 64 bit version?

You will get better result if you increase shift alignment to 5% and rotation to 3%. But the result is still not perfect. I suspect that camera was not moved exactly along optical axis and this creates parallax problems.

You cannot completely get rid of ghosting because images have parallax - relative position of objects in the scene is different due to lateral camera shift. You can try to use retouching brush to make it more noticable by copying larger areas from one source image.

BW images during method B processing is OK, it is depth map.

You can save aligned image with export layers function. It will save png files.
