5.3.7.2 = Runtime error - R6030 CRT not initialized

Post by rproulx »

I own Helicon Focus Lite v5.1.19 (lite unlimited) and am tempted by the current upgrade promotion. While checking my current license (wasn't sure I didn't already own the pro version) I noticed that it was out of date and proceeded to download and install v5.3.7.2. After installing it a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! window appeared with error R6030 - CRT not initialized and the program will not run. I then uninstalled v5.3.7.2, deleted all Helicon Focus folders (including the hidden User folder), and then reinstalled. The same error appeared. I then uninstalled v5.3.7.2 and reinstalled v5.1.19 and it works fine.

I'm running Vista Ultimate v64. I also use i1Display Pro calibration software as well as Extensis Suitcase Fusion 4 in case either of these are known to conflict with HF v5.3.7.2.

Thanks, Russell

It's solved.

The error looked familier as I had it previously with i1Display Pro's software. It's caused by a conflict with FMCore.exe, a component of Extensis Suitcase Fusion 4 font manager.

Disabling FMCore.exe allowed me to install Helicon Focus v5.3.7.2 and I find that I must also disable FMCore.exe whenever I wish to use Helicon Focus.

It's not a difficult workaround. Here's XRite's support doc on the issue:

I have contacted Extenses letting them know that their app appears to be the culprit as now I have 2 applications that are affected (previously the score was tied).

Hope this helps others avoid wasting time troubleshooting this error.

I have the same issue. I don't have i1Display Pro installed. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version of Helicon Focus?
