Hi,
Firstly, many thanks for this great software! I am having an issue, and I would like to know whether is a compatibility or a feature missing problem.
I am using my Nikon D5000, and I would like to take several pictures in a short time frame in order to avoid moving objects during a focus bracketing sequence. Since activating-deactivating live view between each shot takes too long, I tried to disable live view during shooting (preferences panel). However this approach is not working. When I start shooting, Helicon remote says that in order to disable live view, I should use my lens in manual focus mode. But, if I change to manual focus, the remote doesn't change focus distance between shoots and I think the software still moves the mirror between shoots.
Many thanks
Roberto

Re: issue disabling live view during shooting (Nikon D5000)
Hello Roberto,
The problem here is that LV must be on in order to move focus. You can set Remote to disable LV prior to taking a shot, but it will still activate between shots to move focus.

Hello Stas,
Many thanks for your answer, and I get this now.
It's a shame that LV is required to move the focus... I think I will have to put in practice the manual focus ability in order to shoot fast a sequence for Helicon Focus.
Is this required only for the D5000 or for any camera?
Then, I guess that the disabling LV option during shooting is for another shooting sequence like exposure bracketing for example?
Cheers,
Roberto

Re: issue disabling live view during shooting (Nikon D5000)
All Nikon and Canon cameras require LV to move focus.
This option works for any sequence in a sense that LV will be off at the moment of taking a shot, but then Remote still needs to turn LV on to move focus. So yes, you can shoot time lapse or exposure bracketing sequence without ever activating LV, but focus bracketing sequence you can't.

Thank you very much Stas for your comments.
It's much more clear now what I can/can't do with Helicon Remote.
