Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
Running Win7 on laptop and Android on Samsung Galaxy SIII and using Nikon D7000.
Any prospect of seeing Helicon Remote available on these platforms (and for this camera) using either BlueTooth or Wi-Fi? Basically, I'm asking about the prospect of wireless support for Helicon Remote. And, yes -- I know this may require additional hardware or a dongle for the D7000.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
Remote will soon work with Nikon WT-4 wireless module, which, I believe, is compatible with Nikon D7000.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
Not to be picky, but it's the WT-4a for the D7000.
Still, given the inflated price on that, I think I'll have to wait for a third-party solution at a fraction of the price.
Still, thanks for the information; it encourages me to keep looking for alternative hardware!

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
There's also an option of using an Android smartphone (much cheaper than WT unit) as a proxy for using Remote to control the camera via wi-fi. We're currently working on this functionality and are hoping to make a beta version available pretty soon.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
I would be very interested in this when it becomes available. A friend just pointed out to me that I'm not going to get the standoff between laptop (or Android) and camera that I was hoping for using USB cable.
I would offer to participate in the beta program for this, but I've no idea what hardware would need to be attached to my camera (Nikon D7000) to put this through its paces.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
The only option other than WT-4a is connecting the camera to Android smartphone via USB (this device will be stationary with the camera), and then connecting another smartphone/tablet/laptop/PC over wi-fi, using the latter to actually control the camera.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
I have a Nikon AW-110 and it has built in wireless connectivity. Will this work with the next version of helicon remote? I would like to use it with my android tablet. Is there a projected date?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
Only DSLR cameras support remote control, so no, AW-110 won't work.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
Did you take into account that the AW-110 has built-in wireless capability? It works (however, not well) with the Nikon Wireless Mobile Unit app on the galaxy tablet I have. Is this something that Helicon might work on in the future?Stas Yatsenko wrote:Only DSLR cameras support remote control, so no, AW-110 won't work.

Re: Wi-Fi and BlueTooth support
You're welcome to try once the new version of Helicon Remote with wi-fi support is out, but I doubt Nikon AW-110 uses the same protocol as WT-4 and WT-5 modules.
