Just downloaded the trial version of Focus & Remote for use with my Nikon D7100.
I managed to get the Remote app working and have bracketed some shots, but when I try to open Focus from Remote it just locks up. If I open Remote separately and load the images which were created by Remote (which by the way look fine when I view them in Lightroom) I get an error saying:
Invalid image format. All images in stack should have same size, type, depth and color model.
File /Users/xxxx/Pictures/2013.04.10_001/img_001.nef cannot be added. If you want to process new stack, clear source images first.
If I try to proceed it says adding Image1 but then just locks up. Does it not support the D7100 yet or am I doing something wrong?
One further point to add, I did try downloading the Beta version of the app and that worked OK.. It was a little unstable, but I did eventually get it to create the final image.
Apparently, NEF file format have changed in D7100. See if there is a Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update available in the system updates.
How exactly was the new Focus unstable? Was it version 6.0.2 (released April 10)?
Yes, it was the 6.0.2 beta (Mac version) I was using. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I think I had opened the NEFs from disk, rendered the image and then tried to save the resultant image as a JPG. The app just vanished and I had to re-open and go back through the process. I must admit I didn't try as JPG again, I tried TIFF (LZW compressed) and that was OK. Hope it helps (sorry not to be very scientific, all from memory I'm afraid!).
