Remote doesn't open on Laptop Mac running 10.6.8

Anybody have this problem ??

I have an older MacPro that will run a OS up to 10.6.8 which is installed.
The Remote software says it runs n 10.6 and above.

However when i download it I get one of those irritating grayed out bars running through the startup icon and of course the it will not open. Ironically though I can download it to my Tower, also running 10.6.8 and it will open no problem. The only problem is I can't easily tout my Tower around to Locations ..

I'm completely mystified ...

Is your laptop 64-bit? That implies Core 2 or newer processor. If it's Core (first generation) - then it's 32-bit, and 32-bit Mac OS X doesn't provide the component neccessary for Remote.

Hi Stas,

Thanks for getting back .. I believe it is 64 bit. I's a Core Duo (2 ?) and looking in Prefs it has mention of 64 bit / Yes ... in the software section of Prefs.

But I don't know where to go from there

Core Duo is 32-bit CPU. Core 2 Duo is 64-bit.
