camera not found from Samsung S3

Post by cha cha »

Hello,

after I had problems with zooming and panning the live view in Helicon Remote on my Samsung tablet, I installed the software on my Samsung S3 phone. The phone is connected via WiFi with my Nikon D5200 camera (using the WU-1A adapter), but Helicon Remote does not find the camera.

Switching on and off WiFi repeatedly does not help at all. Any ideas what is going wrong?

Thank you

The same connection procedure that worked for the tablet should work for S3 as well. Do you need to setup a profile when connecting with WU-1A?

Hi,

no profile setup necessary. The S3 reports that it is connected to the WU-1A. DSLRDashboard did work correctly with this very same S3 in the very same configuration. I already deinstalled DSLRDashboard, because I was afraid that this would block the connection (it still is installed on the tablet). But this did not help either.

TIA

It certainly wasn't blocking the connection, but it is possible that the camera binds to the software it was last setup with. Have you tried resetting network settings, re-entering them for S3 and connecting with Remote?
