Nikon D7100 autofocus not working
We have set up the camera following all the steps in the helicon remote manual. When we try to auto-focus it seems like no commands are given to the camera itself. Also the focus bracketing arrows do not work. We have tried downloading the newest application version but that did not change anything. Please help, thank you
Re: Nikon D7100 autofocus not working
Autofocus and the arrows most likely don't work for the same reason, and the reason is something in the camera settings. Make sure that autofocus is enabled in the camera and only the most basic single-shot mode is selected. The lens should be set to AF and full range.

Re: Nikon D7100 autofocus not working
The camera is set to autofocus and basic single-shot modus. The lens is set to AF and full range. The lens is a Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8. The same settings work with a different lens but we need to use the Tamron. Any other advice?Catherine wrote: 02.05.2024 13:30 Autofocus and the arrows most likely don't work for the same reason, and the reason is something in the camera settings. Then it's most likely because of the lens and we don't know any way to fix it.
The software is sending the correct commands to the camera, as evidenced by the Nikon lenses working. Why the camera doesn't actuate the Tamron lens appropriately is a question to the camera's firmware developers.

Re: Nikon D7100 autofocus not working
Unfortunately there is a long history on this forum of problems when using the Tamron 90mm with Remote, going back at least 9 years. I have the f004 version which has always worked for me with the D610 and D750, although someone said that the f017 version also worked for him. If you do a search for "Tamron", back in 2015 someone reported problems using it with their D7100 and Stas commented that "we can't solve the design flaw of the lens's mechanism".

That was a different issue.
