Hi,
I need to purchase a new computer. Are all the units of the list "Performance benchmark" available for Helicon Focus?
Can I select any combination from the list?
Is it a good idea to pay more for a good cpu than for good graphics card?
performance benchmark
Re: performance benchmark
Hi,
Sure, you can use the benchmark results for guidance, but note that the benchmark only covers the focus stack rendering itself, it does not include operations like decoding raw images, which takes significant time. For this reason it is a good idea to have a decent CPU if you are going to work with raw files. If your files are JPEG or TIFF, the CPU has much less work to do.
And there is no need to go over the board, unless money is not a big concern.
The benchmark results only feature some select configurations, but in reality any modern hardware will work well.
