Hello,
I have a problem with the automatic focus change for each step of the focus stacking photo series.
When I start the progress, the focus isn't changing to the next step. At the end I have x photos of the same focus point.
Canon EOS R6 II
Tried lens Canon RF 100mm macro and Sigma 105mm
What I also tried/checked:
-checked that no autofocus function like person/eye tracking is active
-set the lens to full range
-one shot is active
-played with the correction factor
I don't know what I can do further.
Thank you for any help.
Helicon Remote not changing focus while shooting
Re: Helicon Remote not changing focus while shooting
Hello,
Does the focus move when you press the <<< / >>> buttons?
If the lens has a range switch, make sure to set it to full range. Also check in the Helicon Remote preferences - Canon that the step size is set to "Big".

Re: Helicon Remote not changing focus while shooting
Hello,
thank you for your reply.
Yes the focus is moving, when I use the buttons.
I already said, that the range is set to full range. I tried step size Big and small.
But I found a solution. When I set the autofocus to manual at the lens, then it's working. But I think that's a bug?

Re: Helicon Remote not changing focus while shooting
Most likely, the MF setting suppresses autofocus being triggered by the camera body, i. e. autofocus is not actually in manual trigger mode. It's not a bug on our end, and only Canon engineers know why their camera does what it does.
