I am using a Nikon D810 and would like to know what the "Exposure Simulation" is doing when you activate it using the Shift+CMD+L keys.
Also... Is there any indication anywhere in the user interface to says it's on or off ?
Thanks
Exposure Simulation Question
Re: Exposure Simulation Question
It's a setting in your camera body that controls whether or not the live view image will try to match the actual exposure of the shots. Remember that live view image is never absolutely correct as it's not being exposed by a shutter as the actual shot does. But you have a choice between simulating the exposure or not. In low light conditions you'll want to turn simulation off so that you can see what you're doing without a flash firing.

Re: Exposure Simulation Question
When using Live View Mode, is the Histogram giving an exact match to what the camera displays?
Re: Exposure Simulation Question
The histogram in Helicon Remote is calculated by the software based on the image that is on the screen. In the live view mode it corresponds to the live view image that the camera produces, and in the fast preview or review mode it's based on the actual shot that you are seeing.
