I am running Helicon Remote on a Mac tethered to a Canon 90D. I have all the following settings. Single shot auto focus, no preview, etc.
I follow the procedure of using auto focus in Remote to select the near focus point, select A and then the arrow keys to move to the farthest focus point and select B. Then start shooting. It completes the number of shots but they did not advance in focus.
I have read other posts regarding a similar problem and took the troubleshooting steps suggested. Still not working.
Any recommendations?
Failure to focus step
Re: Failure to focus step
This is either because image review/quick review is turned on in the camera settings (after a shot is taken it's displayed on the camera's LCD screen, this must be disabled),or due to autofocus settings in the camera. Make sure only the basic single shot mode is enabled, no servo/tracking/continuous/AI/face detection etc.

Re: Failure to focus step
Having trouble with focus stacking on your Canon 90D remotely? I had a similar issue! Did you ensure both focus points A and B were successfully registered before starting the sequence? I found that sometimes a slight delay or confirmation step fixed it.
