Hello,
I use HF V9.0.2
• Rendering JPG is faster as in V8 – no problems
• Rendering RAW is slower then in V8. Before staking, there is a pause. After 5-6 pictures, the next pause. And so on.
I use an Intel i9-12800, 128 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 5070 with 12 GB . Using RAM ist 100%, GPU is activated. Metzhode B, R:3, S:2.
Kind Regards,
Steffen

Re: V 9.0.2 RAW very slow
Hello Steffen,
Can you please send a bug report report after a slow render (menu - Help - Contact support)? We have no idea what the problem could be.
How much slower is rendering the same stack with the same parameters in v9 than 8?
P. S. On a second thought, 100% RAM is definitely a problem. Send the bug report and we'll see more details.

Hello,
thank you for almost answering. Well, I will test with Cache-RAM size and provide feedback later or tomorrow.
Kind regards,
Steffen

Set it to 0%, if that works fine - increase, but no more than to 50%.

Re: V 9.0.2 RAW very slow
Hello,
I tested HF V8 and V9 yesterday and today, each in the latest version.
Images: 32 RAW files each.
One reason for the delay was probably the NVIDIA overlay, which I have now deactivated.
I tested RAM cache usage at both 0% and 45%. At 45%, it was slightly faster.
Method B, radius 3, smoothing 2:
V8 = 30 seconds
V9 = 23 seconds
With both versions, there is a pause after every 5–6 images. I have not yet discovered what causes this.
Kind regards,
Steffen

Check the CPU load, is it more or less uniform, with no clear long dips of lower activity? If not, then everything is working fine. If there are dips, it might be that the storage drive is saturated and is delaying the calculations.

Re: V 9.0.2 RAW very slow
Hello,
I checked the CPU load. Most of the rendering time 100%, there are some small dips that go down to 85-80%. No longer dips or fewer 85-80%.
So I think its all ok and works fine for me.
If you want me to test anything in the beta version, just let me know.
Thank you for helping,
Kind Regards,
Steffen

Re: V 9.0.2 RAW very slow
Hello Steffen,
The pause you're referring to is probably the Adobe DNG converter preparing the images. It converts a batch of images (the batch size is equal to the number of your CPU cores), Helicon focus renders them, then wait for the next image to load.
We have no specific requests regarding the beta testing, just let us know if something doesn't work. Thank you!
