I rendered a stack of 5 images trying different methods and settings. Did three tests had three final images to compare. Received an out of memory msg (yet again) which went away but when I tried to save the best final output image I received a msg "The image cannot be saved. Please try save the image to a different location." Same msg regardless of where I tried to save the image (I want it on the desktop).
The 5 images were Nikon NEF 9.9MB each
iMac 24"
OS X 10.5.8 3
3.06G dual core
4G ram

Re: Unable to save
Does this happen when you process those images converted to 16 bit tiffs? If you are using our program in 64 bit mode, I would suggest to upgrade to 10.6 where 64 bit support is much more stable. The os upgrade is recommended anyway. You are welcome to upload those image to our server (as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp.html) and we will check them.

Re: Unable to save
I think I was running in 32 bit mode.
I am not planning on moving up to OS 10.6
So I changed my NEF images to tiffs. When I went to open Photomatrix to run them it asked for my registration info. WHY? This is a registered copy. When I copied and pasted the code as provided on my receipt, the error message said it couldn't be validated. NOW WHAT?

Re: Unable to save
We are not exploring the bug with NEF files. We cannot reproduce it in our office, this seems to be dependent on some 3rd party software. Registration: you meant Helicon Focus instead of Photomatix? If yes, go to menu\online registration and paste your activation code there.
