hello,
I'm new on this site, can someone please tell me how to save depth map out from the mac version of helicon focus? I just can't see the option on the save tab.
Thanks

Re: Depth Map
Sorry, this is possible in Windows version only so far. We are working on new Mac version which will be available in spring 2012.
Re: Depth Map
here is my next question. Now I tried that windows version, and I see all dmap save option. What is the data structure of the dmap file. What I want to do is virtual focus move on the final focused image based on the dmap file. I just need to know the dmap file format.
Thanks

Re: Depth Map
Depth map is a simple greyscale image with 16 bits per channel depth map. Pixel value codes the Z-value and corresponds to the index of layer. First layer corresponds to 0, the last one to 65535.
Please note that you can save OBJ model from Helicon3DViewer. OBJ is a text format and the main part of it is matrix of Z-values. Although depth map in 3D/OBJ model has lower resolution (512x512) it might be sufficient for your applications.
One more note: you can export layers as semitransparent images. You may use these images for animation you described.
