Determining the # of captures required

Post by KTaylor »

I am a relatively new user of the software and have been using it to capture images of the flower of a Christmas cactus plant. The flower is about 2 inches, 5 cm long. The flower has number stamen closely grouped with very light filaments (stems) and white anthers. I have been able to capture a fairly sharp image of the flower from near to far but the stamen look soft. I've tied taking a few images foe 1 stack and 18 images for another stack with similar results. Any suggestions or am I trying for the results outside the software and/or camera equipment limits. I am using a Canon 5D MKII with a Tamron 180 macro lens.

Thanks
Kent

You are welcome to upload your stack to our server (as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp.html) for analysis. Please be aware of optical effect when blurred background masks areas behind it. The only solution to this is to set smaller aperture.
