for some use cases like minerals adding a scale helps a lot to understand how large (or small) a crystal is.
Currently the "Text/Scale" function in Helicon only adds a scale with no real measurement (scale width only determined by percentage of image x-size).
Idea is, to have a scale that reflects the real size / FOV of an image.
Right now I am using a python script that does the math for me and adds a scale to an image:
known is the sensor x- and y-pixels, also the FOV
hence we can calculate how large (how many pixels) a scale has to be to show e.g. 1mm or 100micron
So it would be nice (and probably not too much of programming) to have three additional fields where the user can put in the FOV and the original(! - because in the stacking process there are already some pixels cropped) amount of pixels on the x-axis, also the desired value for the scale (e.g. 1mm, 500micron ...)
Please find attached an image where the scale was added with my script - possibly that could be possible also from inside Helicon?

Calculations like this are estimates that can be off by ~10%. If you care about size, you should shoot an extra photo with an actual scale and stretch the scale in Helicon Focus to match it.
