Hi,
It would be very helpful to my workflow if there was an optipon that would make Helicon Focus exit after it completed saving its result.
I typically use it to render photographs of scale models of aircraft, cars, AFVs etc. When I shoot a show I come home with 4-10 images of 100-300 models that I stack using HF from Lightroom Classic. The extra clicks to first dismiss the reminder that I have to exit to get LrC to ppick up the result, then exit the application takes time and gets very repetitive. A simple "exit after saving" option in the save dialogue would help a lot.
Thanks!

Exit after saving
Re: Exit after saving
Hi Carl,
Get Helicon Focus 9 (from our website), you still have to exit manually but there is no pop-up reminder, so fewer clicks. And you can exit with Alt+F4.
We can't add anything to the saving dialog as you suggested, it's handled by Windows and out of our control.

Re: Exit after saving
Thanks, will try the beta. One click less is an improvememt. Not on Windows though, MacOS 26 on Apple silicon. Apologies for not mentioning that.
It was not the exit dialogue I suggested updating, it was the "save" dialogue which could get a checkmark in addition to the other choices there (filename, tags, location and file format)

And the reminder is still there in the MacOS beta, but the processing looks to be pleasantly faster.

Hi Carl, I understand and that's exactly what I mean, the dialog is handled by macOS and we can't change anything in it.Shadowmancer wrote: 18.05.2026 20:11 it was the "save" dialogue which could get a checkmark in addition to the other choices there (filename, tags, location and file format)
What do you mean? It's no longer a pop-up dialog, it's completely passive and you don't have to interact with the reminder in any way, unlike before.Shadowmancer wrote: 18.05.2026 20:22 And the reminder is still there in the MacOS beta, but the processing looks to be pleasantly faster.

Hi,
This is what I mean. I tested twice. The second time after reinstalling the plugin.
Thanks,
Carl

Re: Exit after saving
Thanks!
That was fast, I confirm that it is fixed.
I do see another issue with the beta. Unlike the revisions of v8 I have used up until now, the beta of v9 wants to save the file one level up in the directory tree from where the original files are. This despite the setting "Always open the 'Save' dialog in the source image folder" being checked.
Thanks,
- Carl

Re: Exit after saving
You have to navigate to the source folder and save there once, to indicate that you want to save to the original folder. After that it will keep suggesting the source image folder automatically.
