So I've gotten EOS Utility 3 to work with the Camera, and Helicon Remote via USB - But I cannot seem to get the utility to finish connecting.
I even see the Camera show up under network settings, but we can never finish a handshake, the camera eventually errors out with a Error 11.
I'd open a bug report but I see this is currently not a supported configuration.
Is there a way to make this work anyway, or some glimmer that this will become a supported combo?
Wireless despite being 2g would give me a lot more flexibility in many situations.
Support for Connecting to a Canon R7 via Wireless
Re: Support for Connecting to a Canon R7 via Wireless
Apparently this applies to the Helicon Remote via Android. Not just MacOS.
I got it to pair exactly once, no more. No error messages like with the desktop version, or at least nothing bubbling up to me.

It is supported. Do not use the Canon EOS Utility and make sure it's not running before you start Helicon Remote.
Make sure to select the Smartphone mode when configuring Wi-Fi in the camera. Do it always, regardless of whether you will be connecting from an actual smartphone (Android/iOS) or from Windows/Mac.
Connect your Android to the camera's Wi-Fi network, and if the app doesn't connect in 10-15 seconds, send a bug report: menu - Feedback - Report a bug. Note that you need Internet access for this, so disconnect from the camera's Wi-Fi first.
