I opened Helicon Remote, and set up the camera to take 19 photos. The camera took 14 photos, and then an error message popped up that read something like "camera timed out". It asked if I wanted to send an error report, but when I tried, it would not send the email. Also, after the error message appeared, live view disappeared and Helicon Remote crashed. Now, as soon as HR opens, the camera automatically tries to take the remaining 5 photos. The photos don't appear on the screen, or on the camera. An error message pops up about how HR terminated "abnormally" earlier, but again it won't let us send an error report. The camera and the memory card work fine until it is connected to HR, the shutter clicks 5 times, and we are unable to get live view, take other photos, or begin a new stack. Once the camera is off, a "recording images" icon appears on the camera, and stays there indefinitely, or until memory card is removed. Often, this is caused by memory card problems, but we tried a new memory card and it did the same thing. This seems to be a problem within Helicon Remote and not the memory card. Any suggestions? Also...can you provide an older download of Helicon Focus? We are currently operating with 5.2x64 but our computer is old and another version might work better.
Thanks.

Re: Canon Digital Rebel XSI- Helicon Remote problems
Hello,
First of all, how exactly did it not send a bug report? Did it show error message "Failed to send a report"?
It is definitely a problem with Remote and not with memory card. Unfortunately, without the report it's impossible to know what happened.
In case of problems always make sure you have the latest version. There is no reason an older version will work better (although if your computer is really old you can't use recent versions of Remote, which could be a problem if it doesn't work with your camera). Anyway, please install the latest version (5.2 is quite old): http://www.heliconsoft.com/downloads/HeliconFocus.exe

Yes, it sends the error message "Failed to send a report".
I will try your suggestion-download the newer version- and see how it goes. Thanks for your help!

Re: Canon Digital Rebel XSI- Helicon Remote problems
I downloaded the new version and came into the same problem. Helicon remote will not change the focus on the camera and about a minute in, it says "timeout reached while waiting for image." I seems to me that the software is under the impression that there is no image. It says this looks like a bug. Would you like to send a bug report? I try and it says failed to send. Please help.

Could you please reproduce the problem, and then immediately go to File-Preferences->Tools->Log of current session, copy all the text and send it us to [email protected]?
