Camera: Canon 5d MKIII
Lens: Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro
Tablet Samsung 10.1
OS: Android 4.12
Also: Apple Air 10.7.2 OS
I'm frustrated to no end. I'm using the trial version (I'm thankful for that) and here is the issue: I was able to do 2 captures, small, limited focal distance. I went back to the instructional video and have not been able to capture on my pad since. I am able to use auto focus, lock in Pt. A, and then I use the arrows to move to Pt. B. Once the focus is locked in I then return to the 100% live view and tap "B". The "counter" between the A and B point lock shows a number but there are no exposures registered. I have repeated the process countless times and on occasion I get the number of exposures. Going to the preview: Only shows Pt. B in focus. When I was able to acquire a shutter count only B was in focus in the stacked image.
I always try to have a plan B. I hooked it up to my Mac Air and all went well. I have a beautiful image. That being said I tend to believe that I'm following the proper procedure for setting up the capture. Same camera, same cable, different results.
I also had a difficult time initially getting the software to see the camera even though my pad indicated that a camera was connected. I do have the very latest app as I downloaded it on Aug. 16., 2013.
I attempted to capture images without remote and that just doesn't work for me. I can't calculate how many steps I would need for a beautiful capture.
In summary: I can auto focus, double tap to zoom in. I can use the arrows to fine focus, double tap to return to 100%. I can use the arrows to get to pt. B, double tap to zoom in, use the arrows to fine focus. Tap on the focus point, tap B and then I see the preview with only the B point in focus. At times it does give me a count for # of exposures but even then my preview is not in front to back focus.
Thanks!

Re: Helicon Remote with Samsung Note 10.1/4.12
After attempting to use this app numerous times I have come to the conclusion that it is not compatible with the Samsung Note. I have used both my Canon 5d MkIII and my Canon 60d without success.
I have, however, been able to connect my MacAir and capture.
Unfortunately I don't wish to carry my laptop to the scene.
Bug fix???

If it runs and detects the camera - device is not the problem.
It is unclear what you mean by "no exposures are registered", please elaborate.
P. S. Please don't send e-mail and post on the forums with the same problem at the same time, having to answer twice is really annoying.
