Simple stack of 3 shots. 105mm f/5.6 1/5 sec. ISO 100 - Placed 2 Manfrotto tripods @ varying distances between lens & bookcase. Focused 1st shot on nearest tripod, 2nd on next tripod, & 3rd on bookcase. When stacked, 1st tripod has out of focus ghost around it, 2nd has the same. Can't load .jpg example.
Solution: Don't change the f-stop. Just adjust the focal ring. Silly me...

Yes, true. Do not change aperture, this changes how objects are rendered and background is blurred.
