Different converters - different details

The first stack was obtained using RAW-in-DNG, the second was first converted to set of tiffs in LightRoom with lens correction (elimination of distortion and chromatic aberration), and then Helicon stacked the tiffs. It is clear that the second method gives a slightly more detailed picture, and at ...

Re: How much memory can Helicon use?

Catherine, in order not to multiply the topic, I will ask an additional question in this one.

After adding the first stack and closing it (via Remove all outputs ), the program does not release memory immediately. Because of this, when adding the next stack, sometimes it does not have enough RAM ...

Re: Scaling a stack when shooting with lens shift

I've already tried and seen stripes. But I don't understand why it's impossible to make the final image size larger than the original frame? We take the far end as 100%, and the near ones gradually increase. If it turns out to be 120%, 150%, whatever - everything is fine. The program by default ...

Scaling a stack when shooting with lens shift

I shoot in two ways.
1. With a macro lens with internal refocusing. In this case, distant frames have a smaller scale. Everything is fine here.

2. By shifting the lens and camera using macro rails. In this case, distant frames have the same scale as the near ones. I would like to avoid cutting off ...

I want to clarify that all the pictures were generated by Helicon focus, except for the only one in Photoshop.

Re: Soft output compared to Photoshop

I compared different methods for converting from RAW during staking. The programs Capture 1, DxO PureRAW 4, Raw Therapy, Adobe Lightroom converted Nef -> 16-bit Tiff with lens correction (distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberration, although all of them are negligible with the Tamron 90/2.8 VC ...

Extreme macro eye shot. Stacked in Helicon focus. Shots taken using Wemacro rail, Thorlabs tubes, Nikon 10X objective, Thorlabs tube lens, Nikon D810.
Great photo!
Whose eye?
How many frames were shot for the stack?
It is a pity that chromatism is noticeable. I hope you will have the opportunity ...
