Sony A7iii + Sony 100mm GM Macro - Focus step adjustments in app do not work

Newbie here. Have just bought Helicon Remote to use with my new 100mm macro…I’ve read the tutorials on set closets and furthest point.

I set the lens to autofocus and switch the camera mode to manual. On 100mm, the switch to manual is done on lens but the autofocus is still on.

I set the closest point using camera manual focus ring. I try to setup the B point using the arrows in app as I am not supposed to touch manual focus ring or autofocus, but when I use arrows, the depth of field does not change in live viewer, so no matter how many steps I put through, it stays focused on point A.

It feels like the app is not controlling the manual focus ring.

What am I doing wrong?

Set everything to AF, try resetting the camera body settings if nothing else helps.

I’m facing the same issue with my A73 running the latest firmware. I’m using it together with the Sony 90mm F2.8 G Macro lens.

I’ve already tried resetting both the camera settings and the app, but the problem persists. The issue usually occurs right after completing the first focus-stacked sequence. When I try to start a second focus-stacking session, the shutter won’t fire, the focus appears to hang, and the app displays a prompt asking whether I want to abort or continue waiting.

Has this issue been reported before, or is there anything else I can try to troubleshoot it? Thank you for your assistance.

Please send a bug report after this happens: menu - Help - Report a bug.
Also try removing all memory cards from the camera and shooting without them installed.
